Today

Today

Today I smiled, and all at once
things didn’t look so bad.
Today I shared with someone else,
a bit of hope I had.

Today I sang a little song,
and felt my heart grow light,
And walked a happy little mile,
with not a cloud in sight.

Today I worked with what I had
and longed for nothing more,
And what had seemed like only weeds,
were flowers at my door.

Today I loved a little more and
complained a little less,
And in the giving of myself,
I forgot my weariness.

Patience in Prayer

Patience In Prayer

When the idea is not right, God says, “NO”.

No - when the idea is not the best.
No - when the idea is absolutely wrong.
No - when though it may help you,
it would create problems for someone else

When the time is not right, God says, “SLOW”.
What a catastrophe it would be if God answered every prayer at the snap of your fingers.

Do you know what would happen?
God would become your servant, not your master.
Suddenly God would be working for you instead of you working for God.

When you are not right, God says, “GROW.”

The selfish person has to grow in unselfishness.
The cautious person must grow in courage.
The timid person must grow in confidence,
The dominating person must grow in sensitivity.
The critical person must grow in tolerance.
The negative person must grow in positive attitudes.
The pleasure-seeking person must grow in compassion for suffering people.

When everything is all right, God says, “GO.”

Then miracles happen:

A hopeless alcoholic is set free.
A drug addict finds release.
A doubter becomes a child in his belief.
Diseased tissue responds to treatment, and healing begins.
The door to your dream suddenly swings open and there stands God saying, “GO!”.

Remember: God’s delays are not God’s denials.
God’s timing is perfect.

Patience is what we need in prayer.

Rainbow

Rainbow
The way I see it, if you want the rainbow….
you have to put up with the rain.

What soap is to the body….
laughter is to the soul.

Fill your cup with kindness….
and give it to yourself.

Help others get ahead.
You will always stand taller with
someone else on your shoulders.

You cannot do kindness too soon,
for you never know how soon it will be too late.

Each day, rise, shine and sparkle,
and you’ll make the whole world a much brighter place.

If you can’t make it through one door,
I’ll go through another door or
I’ll create a door.

Something terrific will come no matter how dark the present.
Think highly of yourself, because the world takes you at your own estimate.
A positive attitude is contagious but don’t wait to catch it from others, Be a carrier.

Remember: You deserve a little lift!
There is always chocolate and a better tomorrow.
Laughter is the sensation of feeling good all over and showing it principally in one place.

Life isn’t about finding yourself.
Life is about creating yourself.

In matters of style, swim with the current.
In matters of principle stand like a rock. -

Thomas Jefferson.

Let go of sorrow

Let Go Of Sorrow

I’ve heard it said don’t go to bed while hanging on to sorrow,
you may not have the chance to laugh with those you love tomorrow.

You may not mean the words you speak when anger takes its toll,
you may regret your actions once you’ve lost your self-control.

When you’ve lost your temper and you’ve said some hurtful things,
think about the heartache that your actions sometime bring.

You’ll never get those moments back, such precious time to waste,
and all because of things you said in anger and in haste.

So if you’re loving someone and your pride has settled in,
you may not ever have the chance to say to them again…

“I love you and I miss you and although we don’t agree,
I’ll try to see your point of view, please do the same for me.”

Brighten - The corner where you are!

“Brighten” The Corner Where You Are

We cannot all be famous, or be listed in “Who’s Who”,
But every person, great or small, has important work to do,
For seldom do we realize the importance of small deeds
Or to what degree of greatness unnoticed kindness leads.

For it’s not the big celebrity in a world of fame and praise,
But it’s doing unpretentiously in an undistinguished way,
The work that God assigned to us, unimportant as it seems,
That makes our task outstanding and brings reality to dreams.

So do not sit and idly wish for wider, new dimensions
where you can put in practice your many good intentions.
But at the spot God placed you begin at once to do
Little things to brighten up the lives surrounding you.

If everybody brightened up the spot where they’re standing
By being more considerate and a little less demanding,
This dark old world would very soon eclipse the evening star
If everybody brightened up the corner where they are!

For a brighter life

For A Brighter Life

Go forth with each new dawning day
With faith in God and you,
And you will find that all your fears
Will disappear from view.

Go forth with faith in heart and mind
And confidence anew,
And there is nothing in this world
You’ll find you cannot do.

Look at the brighter side of life,
Cast out glooms and despair,
And when you need a helping hand
You’ll find God always there.

Today I will trust

Today I Will Trust

Today, I will stop straining to know what I don’t know.
To see what I can’t see.
To understand what I don’t yet understand.
I will trust that being is sufficient,
And I will let go of my need to figure things out.
